General Background
Chef Twardzik is a graduate of the Career Pastry Arts Program at Peter Kump's Cooking School in New York City. He has worked at some of the finest restaurants in New York City including Chanterelle & Tabla and with world-renowned pastry chef Jacques Torres at his eponymous chocolate company in Brooklyn, NY. Chef Twardzik has also studied extensively with master cake decorator Toba Garrett of New York City. His chocolate and his pastry work has been featured in the Dining Out section of the New York Times and he has also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show. He sells his chocolates & confections in New York City at William Wayne & Company. Chef Twardzik has particular interests in sugar, chocolate and confectionery work as well as in cake and pastry design. His custom cakes, pastries, and confections are sold under the label “Robert J Twardzik – Extraordinary Cakes & Confections”.

A former architect, he served as a principal and design director on large-scale hospitality, entertainment and retail facilities over his twenty-year design career. He is still involved with product development for the A & D market and his 60 pattern carpet collection “Perceptions” for Lees Carpets was launched at Neocon 2002 and he is currently designing a Bed & Tabletop Linens Collection for the Japanese market. Mr. Twardzik has taught interior design, planning and graphic arts at Drexel University and Arcadia University. In addition, he has served as Chairperson and Special Events Advisor to many non-profit community and arts organizations including the American Red Cross, UNICEF, Foundation for Architecture, Philadelphia Dance Alliance and the Reading Terminal Market. Mr. Twardzik’s interior architectural design work has received numerous awards and has been featured in many leading design industry magazines. Robert Twardzik's last project as Director of Hospitality Interiors at Perkins Eastman Architects was the award winning Sun City Takatsuki project (see photo on right).
